1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Kariya's Family Root mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of the App
Kariya's Family Root is a private, invite-only application that allows members of the Kariya family to explore a family tree, view member profiles, submit additions or corrections, and preserve family heritage. It is developed and maintained by Mayank Kariya as a personal, non-commercial project.
3. Eligibility & Access
Access to the App is restricted to:
- Members of the Kariya family, or
- Individuals explicitly invited and approved by the app administrator
Access is granted by verifying your phone number via OTP. The administrator reserves the right to revoke access at any time without notice.
4. User Responsibilities
By using the App, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information when submitting family data
- Not submit false, misleading, or offensive content
- Respect the privacy of other family members
- Not attempt to access accounts or data that do not belong to you
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or misuse the App
- Not use the App for any commercial purpose
5. Content Submission & Admin Moderation
All requests to add or modify family data (except direct edits by profile owners) are subject to review and approval by the administrator. The administrator may approve, reject, or modify any submission at their sole discretion. Approved content becomes part of the shared family record visible to all app users.
6. Profile Ownership
Verified users may claim their own member profile. Once claimed and approved, profile owners can directly edit certain personal fields (bio, photo, city, occupation, etc.). Structural fields (name, gender, family links) still require admin approval via a correction request.
7. Intellectual Property
The App's design, code, and layout are the intellectual property of Mayank Kariya. Family data submitted by users remains the property of the respective family members. By submitting content, you grant the administrator a non-exclusive licence to display that content within the App for family use.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, always available, or that data will never be lost. Use the App at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mayank Kariya shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including loss of data or privacy breaches caused by third-party services (Firebase, Google Sheets).
10. Termination
The administrator may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may also stop using the App at any time and request deletion of your data by contacting us.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Gujarat, India.
