Delete Your Account

Kariya's Family Roots

We respect your right to delete your account and associated data. You can request account deletion using either of the methods below.

Method 1: From the App

  1. Open Kariya's Family Roots on your device.
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon on the Home screen).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE in the dialog box.
  5. Your account will be permanently deleted immediately.

Method 2: Via Email

If you cannot access the app, send an email to the address below with your registered phone number. We will process your request within 7 business days.

What Gets Deleted

Data Type Action
Your login credentials (phone, password) Deleted
Your user profile (name, email, FCM token) Deleted
Profile claim (ownership link to a family member) Deleted
Pending requests you submitted Deleted
Family tree data (shared genealogy records) Retained

Note: Family tree member records are shared genealogy data contributed by the community. These records are retained to preserve the integrity of the family tree for other members. If you want specific member data removed, please mention it in your deletion request email.

Retention Period

Account data is deleted immediately upon confirmation. No backup copies are retained after deletion. Family tree records are kept indefinitely as shared community data unless specific removal is requested.
